Have you eve thought “with some much technology, we are going to kill ourselves” before? I mean, half of the movies that come out have some sci-fi twist where we annihilate our race utterly. In the Matrix the machines turned against us. In I am Legend we created a super race of vampire humans. Are we going to destroy the world with technology? Here are my reasons why I don’t think that will happen.

We are too paranoid. Think about the Matrix and how the robots turned against them. They noticed that their metal but fully automated help started gaining emotions. And while the humans did have their hearts in the right place by letting them become sentient, we in the real world would not. Because that means you have something human like, that can think, made of metal that may want to kill you. Plus, we would make so man off switches it just doesn’t seem logical.

A death virus probably won’t do us in either. Humans that play with highly dangerous chemicals do it in places where those chemicals are only scary to the people working with them. And if we created one super being you can be sure it would be surrounded by military personnel right away. So if it is violent, it’s probably dead. I’m just saying.

Lastly, maybe the giant comet idea could happen. If a asteroid or planetoid was on a crash course from Earth there might be nothing we could do. But do you think in any rational world we wouldn’t try every possible thing to live through it? That’s kind of our thing! However, the likeliness of a comet not crashing into another or other planet seems kinda far fetched too!

We don’t want to die. That’s the plain and simple truth. So unless something catastrophic happens that’s out of our control, I think you’ve got some time left. What would you do if it was the end of the world? Would you party constantly? Maybe you’d like to do all of the things you’d always planned to.
